

Mwatana for Human Rights stated that it provided legal support, through its field-based female and male lawyers, to 463 victims who were subjected to arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance, and torture, and contributed to the release of 21 victims during November 2025.
Mwatana provided legal assistance to civilian victims held by various parties, including: 241 victims held by Ansar Allah (the Houthis), 85 victims held by the Southern Transitional Council, 117 victims held by forces affiliated with the internationally recognized government, and 20 victims held by the Saudi- and UAE-led Coalition forces.
The victims were distributed, in varying numbers, across several governorates, with Taiz recording the highest number (80 victims), followed by Aden (56 victims), Amanat Al-Asimah (61 victims), Hadramawt (54 victims), Hajjah (26 victims), Marib (23 victims), Al-Hudaydah (17 victims), Lahj (24 victims), Shabwah (22 victims), Al-Dhalea (20 victims), Ibb (17 victims), Abyan (13 victims), Sana’a Governorate (16 victims), Dhamar (11 victims), Al-Bayda (7 victims), Al-Mahwit (8 victims), Amran (7 victims), Sa’dah (2 victims), and one victim in the Yemeni–Saudi border areas. Mwatana contributed to the release of 21 victims during November 2025.
During November 2025, Mwatana for Human Rights documented 73 new incidents of violations, including arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance, and torture.
Ansar Allah (the Houthis) bear responsibility for 39 incidents of these violations, while forces affiliated with the internationally recognized government are responsible for 14 incidents, the Southern Transitional Council forces for 17 incidents, and the Saudi- and UAE-led Coalition forcesfor 3 incidents.
Mwatana for Human Rights provides legal support through a network of female and male lawyers across various regions of Yemen to victims of arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance, and torture committed by different parties.
Mwatana undertakes these efforts in coordination with victims’ families or on their behalf, following thorough documentation of all information related to the victim and the incident, and based on informed consent obtained from the victims or their relatives.
The Legal Support Team at Mwatana focuses its efforts on ensuring procedural justice for all individuals who come into contact with law enforcement authorities or who are detained by armed formations acting as de facto authorities, with the aim of guaranteeing their full enjoyment of rights from the moment of arrest, through interrogation and defense, conditions of detention, and until trial proceedings are concluded.
