Since the outbreak of the armed conflict in Yemen in late 2014, Mwatana for Human Rights has documented hundreds of incidents in which parties to the conflict have used live bullets against civilians in various Yemeni governorates. The use of live bullets as a violation means: Killing, injuring and maiming, which includes various injuries sustained by civilians as a result of the use of live bullets, whether intentionally such as bullets fired by snipers, or unintentionally such as the stray bullets fired in mutual clashes or the falling bullets that do not directly target civilians but cause harm to them.
