Mwatana Launches Its New Website
Mwatana for Human Rights has launched its new website, the result of a lot of hard work to develop a modern website that smoothly and coherently showcases the various aspects of Mwatana's work. The new website will allow us to present our efforts in a better and more comprehensive manner, through multiple user-friendly windows that are compatible with computers, tablets, smartphones, and a variety of browsers.
Mwatana's new website provides an opportunity for organizations, researchers, journalists, and individuals interested in the situation in Yemen to browse and explore information based on violators or types of violations. Additionally, visitors can access the organization's publications, including reports, studies, letters, and statements. The website also offers the option to browse the latest publications.
Through the ‘Legal Support’ window on Mwatana's new website, which is presented through regular newsletters, we highlight the legal support efforts provided to victims, including the number of individuals released during the covered period. Within the same window, victims and their families can submit requests for legal support using an electronic form, particularly for cases of enforced disappearances or arbitrary detention. These requests will be verified, and the necessary legal assistance will be provided through Mwatana's Legal Su. These lawyers work alongside victims and their families in various regions of Yemen to ensure justice for all individuals in accordance with the law and relevant international standards, while also striving to end all arbitrary conditions imposed by conflict parties on civilians.
In addition to multiple windows such as Videos, Podcasts, Gallery, Campaigns, Events, Blogs, Articles, and others, Mwatana's new website features a dedicated ‘ Files’ section focusing on important human rights issues and topics.
The ‘ Files’ window sheds light on significant matters through a series of titles, including the ‘Dark Dungeons’ file, which addresses the plight of forcibly disappeared and arbitrarily detained individuals in the cells of conflict parties, and the ‘ How The War Lengthened Our Journeys’ support Unit lawyers network, which highlights violations of the right to travel and access for civilians across Yemen.
The ‘ About Mwatana’ window provides comprehensive details about Mwatana's work, vision, mission, goals, institutional structure, leadership, Board of Trustees, Steering Committee, Code of Conduct, methodology, story, policies, and organizational manuals. Additionally, it offers an overview of internal and external audits conducted on Mwatana's operations. Information regarding Mwatana's targets, awards, partners, and allies is also available.
We are pleased to announce the launch of the new version of our website as the first phase of Mwatana's efforts within a broad vision for digital transformation and Artificial Intelligence. This is part of our commitment to good governance, institutional development, and enhanced media and communications mechanisms. Our goal is to promote a human rights culture, and we are working towards achieving it with the proficient technical team of Yemeni developers at Wikkan. The second phase of our work includes launching an interactive map of human rights violations in Yemen. This map will provide accurate data on over 13,000 violations, categorized by various research inputs and outputs such as patterns, parties involved, dates, locations, victim numbers, women, children, and other indicators. Additionally, there will be an electronic application form and additional windows for reporting violations, providing feedback and suggestions, and facilitating access for victims and informants. These additional windows aim to expand the organization's reach in receiving complaints and initial reports while simplifying reporting mechanisms for cases involving children, adults, vulnerable groups, protection and safeguarding, and other violations of the organization's policies and regulations such as conflicts of interest, corruption, and embezzlement. Furthermore, a dedicated window will be developed to showcase activity reports and audit reports specific to the organization.
